This weeks Challenge for Tsunami Rose....Butterflies

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! Here is this weeks Challenge project I did for Tsunami Rose. The theme is Butterflies.....This project is also featuring the New Beginnings paper. What better theme than butterfiles? Well, the project I chose to do this week was very time consuming but very well worth it. Im going to show you all the pages.....

I used a sizzix bigz die cut and cut 9 (was supposed to be 10) chipboard scallop journal sheets...I did this first to insure the book wouldnt be flimsy. Then I cut 18 pieces of Bazzel Card Stock pastels to glue to front and back of each piece of Chipboard.  Then I cut the New Beginnings papers with the same die.  Glued them to each page. And then began the process of embellishing and inking , etc.

I added journaling cards and pockets and tickets from the New Beginning collection. I added more butterflies to the pages and also quotes from a collection from K & Company. I added stickles Star Dust. White flat back pearls and inked the edges with what I call the cats eye ink.

Than I added the book rings and different ribbons attached to the rings with a beautiful silver Scissors Charm that is very elegantly crafted...This book was alot of work, but in the end, well worth it. Cant wait to add the photos to make it complete.....Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my projects. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my last Challenges.. Hop on over to Tsunami Rose Blog spot to see the latest ...

Challenge #4 for Tsunami Rose...Anything Goes
\

This weeks challenge is anything goes....These are so much fun because they allow you to let your senses flow! Well, this week, they have flown like mad....I did two projects for this challenge.  This is the first of the two....Tennis Shoes! Plain old tennis shoes.  Tennis shoes, New Beginnings Papers and good ole Mod Podge!  Here are the shoes..............

I printed out the New Beginnings papers on copy paper instead of cardstock. I tore the pages in every direction. Then I added Mod Podge to each piece of paper and placed them randomly until the shoe was covered...Brushed another coat of Mod Podge over the entire paper and let dry. I also covered the tongue of the shoes and painted with a coordinating colour, the stitched area on and around the lace eyelets.   Then I added stickles on the rose petals and various other spots to balance it a bit.  Then I added lavender dotted swiss ribbon for shoe strings. Pretty cotton lace is what I wanted to use for the laces, but I didnt have any on hand. Hope you like my shoes!!  My next project is a purse made from a box..New Beginnings paper done in squares and applied with Mod Podge. Sealed with another coat. Stickles and ink shadings.  A jeweled handle to capture all the colours of the paper. It is hinged and has a decorative latch.  They are lined and mirrored.  Another Lavender dotted swiss ribbon dropping down off the corner of one end of the handle with a birdcage charm. These too were alot of fun.

Thanks so much for dropping by my blog to see my projects for Tsunami Rose Designs.  I love reading your comments...Kim

Tsunami Rose Challenge "Colour Inspiration"

Hey everyone..welcome to another Challenge by Tsunami Rose.

                                                 "Inspired By Colour"

\

The new challenge this week at Tsunami Rose is "Colour Inspiration".

Here is my project for this challenge:

I used an inexpensive wood frame I purchased at a hobby store and primed it with the darker of the two sage greens in the colour inspiration. Then I used the "New Beginnings" paper by Tsunami Rose and cut it into pieces to fit the frame. I put a coat of Mod Podge on the back of each paper piece, and applied the paper to the wood. Added another coat of Mod Podge to the top to seal it

I then used a butterfly rubber stamp. Decorated the the flowers and butterflies on the paper with ice  stickles. I used flat back pearls and sage gems on the sentiment that comes with the paper. I used the lighter and darker shades of roses from Scrapbook Stamp Society. Trimmed the edge of the roses  with stickles.  Then I add Lavender dotted swiss ribbon and white tulle , a white feather and a stick pin.

This project turned out beautiful and it was enjoyable to do. And the New Beginnings paper is perfect for a project like this. It was fun and pretty fast to do. I hope you enjoy my project. And hop on over to I love Sketches by Tsunami Rose fan page as see what other projects are there!

Tsunami Rose Challenge

Hi everyone and welcome to my blog.  Its time for the weekly Challenge at Tsunami Rose. This weeks challenge and my first with TRD is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch......

Photo

So, here is my card for the challenge sketch.

I used Tsunami Rose "New Beginnings" Paper. Layered with some Sage Bazzell and Rose coloured Basic cardstock...I used a beautiful trim that I purchased from JoAnns and lavender dotted swiss ribbon.  Pearls, a stick pin and "Star Dust" Stickles.

This paper is beautiful and feminine and prints beautifully. I so enjoyed making this card and using Tsunami Rose Sketch. It was a challenge but I love a good challenge. Makes it interesting and worthwhile.

I so look forward to my next Challenge for Tsunami Rose on My Birthday....Jan 16th. Thank you all for stopping by to check out my work. I hope you enjoy it......Kim
